Wednesday, October 6 @ 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 10, 2021
This course combines practices of Mindfulness with principles of Non-Violent Communication, developed by the psychologist Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D. It is summarized in Oren Jay Safer’s book, Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to NonViolent Communication. You won’t learn this from reading a book; however, you must practice with others.
When you use Violent Communication, you speak in ways that hurt or harm others, including judging, bullying, discriminating, blaming, speaking without listening, reacting when angry, and being defensive. When we add mindfulness, we can tune into our bodies to be less reactive and more responsive.
Students will have the choice to join each class in-person or through Zoom.
