Tuesday, October 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until November 2, 2021
The classes involve discussion and experiential practices. While invited, no one will be compelled to share. You can speak as much or as little as you are comfortable.
In Class One, we will focus on situations or relationships where we feel unsettled, judging ourselves and/or others. Practices will help us gain a more realistic view of ourselves and others, tuning into what we actually control in any situation and acknowledging that we are all imperfect.
All of the world’s wisdom traditions teach that envy and jealousy are harmful; yet, it is hard not to be envious of the person who gets the raise you wanted or who attracts others when you feel like a wallflower. When we are jealous or envious, it is we who suffer. In Class Two, we will focus on the antidote to envy and jealousy.
Class Three helps us to increase our loving kindness beyond those to whom we feel close, including people who are neutral—those we do not know well—and even those who are difficult for us. And, Class Four involves building empathy in a way that does not create burnout while caring for those who are suffering, including yourself.
As all mindfulness practices, these must be practiced on an ongoing basis to become part of your life.
