Setting Intensions for the New Year

The majority of New Year’s resolutions are not kept after the first few weeks.  Rather than make resolutions, we will learn how to set intentions for nourishing ourselves and our relationships through 2022.

Join Dr. Ann Friedman to learn how to set and be more faithful to your intentions, and to stay truer in meeting your needs throughout the year ahead.



Ann Friedman, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist, has studied mindfulness intensively with various national teachers since 2007.  In 2015, she received a Certification in Mindfulness Facilitation from the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) of the Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine at UCLA.  She has also completed Certification for Cognitive Based Compassion Training through Emory University.  Dr. Friedman teaches mindfulness classes for adults, teens, and children, as well as for businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations.  She has been sent by UNICEF to Florida and Puerto Rico to train physicians and counselors following treacherous hurricanes, and to Oklahoma by Dr. Oz’s HealthCorps to work with a Middle School.

Ann previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Counseling Psychology Graduate Program for over ten years.  She holds both a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston.  She completed her Internship in Clinical Psychology at U.T. Medical School and her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Baylor College of Medicine.

There is free parking available in the front and rear of our office building. For students attending the night classes, we want you to know there is a security guard on staff.

Please note that the building doors lock at 6 pm, so you will need to enter through the back door of the building — this is where the security guard is located.

Come as you are, and be comfortable. Some of our students may be in business attire, and others in workout clothes. 

Class is experiential and includes some teaching, as well as practices with discussion. No one is pressured to speak. 

We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before class starts. If you are going to arrive late, that it is fine, but it is best to be on time to be respectful of the group. We all understand that sometimes things happen beyond our control, however, and we would rather have you come late than not at all. 

You are allowed to bring food and beverages. We offer water, tea, and coffee at our studio at no charge. 

There is no need to take notes. Our instructors will provide summaries of each class as handouts (or sent via email).
